A SIGN OF THE (L.A.) TIMES: UPSTAGED CHARGERS LEVERAGE THEIR MEDIA WITHOLDINGS

By Tom Hoffarth

They haven’t created an alluring, fake profile on Match.com. Or paid starving writers to craft poetically positive posts on Yelp. Not even one robotic conspiracy about generating extra likes on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

Instead, the Chargers have leveraged more traditional media platforms to mold a meet-and-greet game plan with the Los Angeles market since their move from San Diego became official in January 2017.

KCBS-Channel 2 will have this Sunday’s Chargers-Rams Week 3 broadcast from the Coliseum, the first regular-season meeting of two L.A.-based NFL teams in decades. Dan Fouts, the Chargers’ Hall of Fame quarterback who has spoken loudly about his disapproval of the team’s move, will be the game analyst as he done several times with CBS as the AFC network.

What else can we expect? See this story as it ran in the Los Angeles Times.
